“Today’s Women Working for Tomorrow's World”
"The W.I.offers opportunities for all women to enjoy friendship, to learn, to widen their horizons and together to influence local, national and international affairs”
Kingstone Women’s Institute, though formed in 1919, was oficially inaugurated in January 1920 and we look forward to celebrating our 90th birthday in January 2010.
We meet at Kingstone Village Hall on the second Tuesday of the month (except August, which is the holiday month) at 19.30 and at present our membership is 24 and growing.
We are a mixed group of women and between us have many different interests. We would be delighted to welcome anyone who would like to join us. Serving on the committee, making jam or cakes is not compulsory, neither is an ability to knit tea cosies, but an interest in making new or meeting old friends is essential! We participate in many local activities, for example the Church Flower Festival and fund raising events.
We have a varied programme of speakers and demonstrators throughout the year and the committee will always welcome any new ideas.
